Who ever thought that two Limerick men, who took a liking to wearing plastic bags on their faces, would now be selling out shows across the UK? The well known Irish act the Rubberbandits have been taking the UK by storm with sold out shows in Edinburgh and London. Their controversial comic songs seem to be attracting all the right people, including certain celebrities like Russel Brand who tweeted, ‘one day their prophecies may free us all’, and Stephan Fry endorsing their new track ‘Fella’s’ as ‘splendid’.

With 25 of their shows ‘Continental Fistfight’ at the Edinburgh fringe they are set for a busy month, and plenty of people to entertain. Having just finished the show in London with “RAVE” reviews they have sold out every one of their fringe festival shows. TimeOut London magazine said that ‘there’s devilishly sharp satire at work here’ while www.stage.co.uk says ‘The pair’s dexterity in sound is often matched by their swaggering poise and, crucially, nimble and cheeky lyrics.’

With many of their previous songs being full of controversy and a strange love of Gabriel Byrne the new single is no different. With a homemade Gabriel Byrne puppet singing the lyrics to ‘Fella’s’, this song doesn’t cover your everyday subjects and is probably something you wouldn’t let your grandmother listen to. But with the video going viral we love it, and we are on the edge of our seats to see exactly what they will do next.
