Top 10 Bands For Irish Festivals

Did you know that there are over 300 music festivals in Ireland this summer? Small and big, mainstream and independent, international and most importantly Irish. With such a large selection of musical talent and festival options, Ireland is most certainly becoming a huge festival destination. We have chosen some of what we think are the 10 top festival bands this summer. And the best thing?? They are all Irish. 

Ham Sandwich

One of the countries favourites  they really don’t need much of an introduction. It seems that Ham Sandwich have played nearly every festival in Ireland this summer including supporting Arcade Fire in Marly Park. But we are not done with them yet. Look out for them at Electric Picnic, we can’t wait.

Paddy Casey

Paddy Casey is a well known name on the Irish festival scene, and is guaranteed to deliver timeless hits and a great show that everyone loves. Paddy Casey has such a recognisably Irish voice and will always attract a crowd. With such hits as ‘Saints and Sinners’, ‘Whatever gets you True’ and the truly beautiful ‘The Lucky One’ you really don’t want to miss a chance to see him live. 

The Original Rudeboys

The Original Rudeboys released their Album ‘All We Are’ this summer which took them to such heights as supporting Kanye West and Pharrell Williams in Marley Park, and playing V festival in the UK. There is no stopping this Original Irish hip hop band as they seem set on world domination! 

Declan O’Rourke

If you have never heard of Declan O’Rourke then you are missing out. His soothing voice comes so naturally, and when in a festival environment his music comes alive. While traveling between America and Australia, Declan still find time to play plenty of gigs for his Irish fans.

The 4 Of Us

With 7 albums worth of hits to choose from, like the number 1 favorite ‘Mary’, The 4 Of Us have to be one of Irelands most experienced bands. Preference to play at festivals really comes across in their set, and they have a great fan base of all ages. 

Otherkin

Standing into the role of the nations upcoming Rock Band, Otherkin have taken it in their stride and have been making storms across the festival scene. Having played Longitude, Castlepalooza and Electric Picnic they seem to be destined for great things. 

Vann Music

Having already played at Castlepalooza, Indiependence and Forbidden fruit, they have been the ones to watch this festival season. Their most popular track ‘Into the Night’ is getting a lot of attention and has gathered them a healthy fan base. With dance, pop and rock influences in their music they play a lively set every time. 

Red Empire

Red empire have a very unique, cool and consistent sound, and we are truly proud that they have grown from Irish soil. Becoming increasingly popular on the festival scene this year, they are sure to start popping up in more and more fields around Ireland!

Big September

With a high energy and uptempo sound Big September have found themselves all over the country this summer. Having played Indiependance, Groove Festival, and headlined Bray Summerfest, they are on the up and serious ones to watch.

Fresh Ré

Dublin’s own Fresh Ré are something new and different for the festival scene in Ireland, and have become a huge internet sensation. Being so young only adds to how truly special this band are Overflowing with talent and with a huge following, do not underestimate the power of the Ré!
